Physiotherapist ViewpointERGONOMICS ~ from a Physio Perspective
"As a physiotherapist of 30 years I am always looking for ways of decreasing postural problems in my clients.
Neck and back problems are becoming more common due to our technology involving many hours in front of a computer screen.
The Porta-Book allows for the keyboard to be at an angle that decreases strain on the neck muscles which in turn reduces the incidence of neck stiffness and fatigue. Raising documents and books to an appropriate level allows the client to maintain good posture whilst performing the daily grind of hours at a desk. It has been noticed that children in our primary schools are not maintaining good posture whilst reading, causing headaches, fatigue and disinterest in their schoolwork.
For those clients that have purchased Porta-Books they have reported a decrease in their symptoms.
Many parents have purchased Porta-Books for their children not only desk activities but also for reading in bed at night.
I highly recommend using the Porta-Book if you are experiencing aching through the neck and shoulder areas aided by regular breaks and stretching".
